My Daughters

I’ve held innocence in my arms and nestled her to my breast.

I gave her the sweet milk of a mother’s love and laid her gently to rest.

Always knowing the day would come where I would have to let her go, so I gave her a map and placed it in her heart so she will always know.

How to deal with life and all it’s pain and happiness as well. I know she’ll make mistakes, and I will try to guide her through and through.

She won’t listen most of the time, that’s what young adults do. With a tear in my eyes of joy and pain I wave her on her way and remind her that I love her each and every day.
